Miesha’s Portuguese Tree Cork Grips (Pair) – grooved and punched for Barend shifters
Genuine ring cork from a small wine bottle cork maker in Portugal, the cork capitol of the world. these grips are simple and stylish- they will make any bike look better. Supremely light, cushy, and grippy. You can get the most grip out of them raw, but we recommend shellac. Shellac will help protect the life of your grips, plus make them just a hair darker. Like the normal Miesha cork grips, but with grooves and an open end for bar end shifters and cables. We recommend two coats of shellac, clear or amber. Install them with a good squirt of 3m Super 77 spray glue. Wipe off the excess. These are a bit of a process to install properly, with bar end shifters.
Before you glue: Shellac the grips. Install the bar end shifters and get them angled the way ya want. Score the bar gently with a screw driver or a knife, where the cable comes out of the shifter. Pull the shifter off, leaving just the mark where the cable has to run. Glue the grips on, aligning the notch in the bar with the notch in the grip.
